Disaster Recovery remains an afterthought despite increasing frequency of failures and outages

Working from home looks set to stay for public sector employees

READING, UK. December 16th, 2020 – Many public sector employees look set to remain working from home for the long-term, as a result of the pandemic. Public sector leaders reported that working from home was here to stay with 45% of those surveyed believing that 70% or more of their formerly office-based employees would be allowed to continue to work from home in some capacity.

Reasons given included proof that working from home was more productive and that it allowed for a review of property use and the subsequent potential savings from reducing office space.

Network attacks hit two-year high during pandemic despite shift to remote working

9 December 2020 – Network attacks and unique attack signatures both hit two-year highs between July and September this year, according to the latest Internet Security Report from WatchGuard Technologies. Findings from the research show that attacks detected grew to more than 3.3 million, representing a 90% increase over the previous quarter. The report reveals how COVID-19 has impacted the cyber security threat landscape, with evidence that attackers continue to target corporate networks despite the shift to remote working.
