Study Highlights Google’s Key Travel Industry-Specific Search Ranking Factors

SAN MATEO, Calif. (July 12, 2017) - New research from Searchmetrics identifies the important travel industry-specific search ranking factors that travel agents, airlines, hotel chains and other travel-related brands should consider in order to help improve their visibility in Google searches.

A summary of the findings is: Travel brands rank higher by giving searchers a highly browsable experience, helping them easily gather and compare related information. They should also cover topics comprehensively, using more words and more large images, even if this means pages load a little slower.

RiskIQ Researchers Track Ecommerce Threat, Discover Network of Threat Actors Reshipping Items Purchased with Stolen Cards

In October of last year, the RiskIQ Threat Research team released "Compromised E-commerce Sites Lead to 'Magecart," a report profiling the e-commerce threat they discovered and dubbed 'Magecart,' which injects JavaScript code into e-commerce sites running outdated and unpatched versions of shopping cart software from Magento, Powerfront, and OpenCart. By logging consumer keystrokes, these attackers capture large quantities of payment card information.

Now, by following a new strain of Magecart, the team has discovered a direct link to the outcome of the stolen credit cards for threat actors, offering rare insight into the physical world operations of actors tied to digital threats.

Earl Breon: The Power of a Fresh Perspective

Ladies and gentlemen, let me paint a picture for you. The year is 1983 and you are a super fit, well geared, and highly trained ultra-marathon runner. You are getting ready for a 544 mile race from Sydney to Melbourne, Australia. You are mulling about with your peers, rubbing elbows with everybody who you know is at least as prepared as you are. You see an array of high end athletic brands on display. It is a stereotypical marathon.

But then you start to hear some murmuring. “He’s how old?” Your interest is piqued. “He’s wearing what?” Okay, now you have to see what the commotion is about.

Website Builder: The 2017 Marketing Mobile Infographic

It's not a secret. While digital marketing on the desktop remains an important channel, it is in the mobile arena where customers are increasingly present. Over the past few months, Megan Arevalo (Community Director for websitebuilder.org) has been persistent in her requests we take a look at an infographic her team built. She claims the graphic is "chalk full of relevant and new information about mobile marketing and it highlights what a powerful impact mobile marketing has on consumers and businesses alike". After taking a look at the graphic for myself, I have to agree with Megan. It's a good graphic containing relevant information that I believe our readers would be interested in looking at too.

PETERBOROUGH, NH – June 27, 2017 – 91 per cent of IBM i users questioned in a new poll said offering a greater choice of ways in which customers could interact with their companies – such as web and mobile self-service – would help improve customer engagement, and over half (54 per cent) said they are planning to introduce new customer engagement channels within the next three years. The research reveals, however, that initiatives such as this are being tested by cost considerations and IBM i skills shortages, as well as worries about making changes to core business systems.

Powered by Battery: The Ryobi Electric Riding Lawnmower

A few weeks ago during my visit to the local Home Depot, I came across the Ryobi RM480E, an all-battery powered electric riding lawn mower. Ryobi claims that you'll get up to 2 hours of run time or cut up to 2 acres on a single charge. This quiet, smooth battery powered riding mower houses three high-torque brushless motors to support the mower's blades and drivetrain.  The RM480E's uses four 12V lead acid batteries instead of lithium-ion which given the choice  and given the size of the mower  so they're not lithium).
