SetSeed CMS is a multi-tenant white-label CMS platform that helps web designers and agencies create better websites faster. Ben Vallack created SetSeed CMS to solve typical problems of other CMSs like plugin-bloat, usability issues, workflow bottlenecks and WYSIWYG shortcomings.

Opinion: Technology is no longer a disruptive force

When Google announced in 2012 that they were bringing Google Fiber to Kansas City, my father called me and said he was interested. As an information technologist, I was excited. I told the “old man” that Google Fiber was going to change everything. Last month, Google Fiber finally came to my parents' neighborhood, and I made the six-hour drive to visit the house I grew up in.

Liferay Portal 6.2 Improves Mobility and WEM

For the first time in a few years, CMS Report isn't present at Liferay's North American Symposium currently taking place in San Francisco. However, we still have plenty of our friends there helping to feed us with any CMS related news coming out of this conference. Probably the biggest news presented yesterday was Liferay, Inc. revealing Liferay Portal 6.2 to the crowd.

Liferay offers a more refined, mobile-ready version of the company’s flagship product. The new version should also help enterprises execute their engagement strategy across channels and audiences by making it easy to create mobile-responsive websites that connect with users across every stage of the relationship lifecycle.

My review of e-Spirit's FirstSpirit CMS

In September's CMS-Connected show, I once again had the privilege of being a guest reviewer for their "CMS In the Spotlight" segment. This time around I reviewed e-Spirit's FirstSpirit CMS. Never heard of it? Honestly, I hadn't either until CMS-Connected Producer Gary Eisenstein assigned me the gig. Come to find out, FirstSpirit CMS helps run a number of international sites from companies like Bosch, KLM, Speedo, Sterling Jewelers, and Nintendo of Europe. While doing my homework, I walked away from the demo impressed with the amount of effort e-Spirit had done to improve usability for authors and editors.

Telerik Sitefinity Connects with Salesforce.com and Marketo

Telerik has announced the availability of Salesforce.com and Marketo connectors for the 70,000 users of its web content management solution, Sitefinity. The release of these connectors come at a time when software vendors and service providers are increasingly supporting the development of websites that offer features in web experience management and visitor personalization. Telerik hopes that with these two products, Sitefinity customers can provide more exacting and personalized customer experiences to their website visitors with "ease, creating more targeted product, messaging and revenue possibilities".

Quoting IT: When an Open Source Community Faces Growing Pains

"There's no right way to do it, but there are wrong ways, trust me, I know, I've done them all. Doing it wrong can harm people and it can really hurt the community. What you all have built together is remarkable and it's worth considering how you extend it further and find ways to continue to collaborate, both as Drupal, and maybe even more importantly as a broader PHP community."
