Moodle, an open source software package for producing Internet-based courses and web sites, has released it's latest version...Moodle 2.6.1. This latest version provides a number of bug fixes and small improvements as well as fixes to security vulnerabilities that were recently discovered. The new features in Moodle 2.6.1 include:
Ability to edit a larger number of grades in the grader report- Improved ActionMenu ARIA support
- Timeouts are now configurable in repository plugins
- Quiz auto-save detects that the connection to the server has been lost and warns students
Last November, the 2.6 version of Moodle was release giving teachers, administrators, and users a host of new features since the release of Moodle 2.5. Some of the new additions included in Moodle 2.6 for teachers were:
- Annotate uploaded PDF files in browser
- Enhanced marking workflow and allocation
- Enhanced feedback in Certainty-based marking
- Easily edit course activities and resources
- Add a Single activity course format
For administrators and managers:
- Bulk course creation tool
- Streamlined course and category management
- Create additional name fields
- Import and export role redefinitions
- Backup and restore large courses
For all users:
- A more user-friendly TinyMCE editor
- Access files from Microsoft Skydrive
- Improved calendar handling with multiple calendar support
- Simplified username and password recovery
- Improve file management in TinyMCE editor
- Better responsive design
The latest version of Moodle can be downloaded from Moodle.org. Moodle developers recommend that you upgrade your sites to these latest versions as soon as possible.
