Integrating third party applications into Documentum has become easy with the CARA Hub. Integrate information or UI components of external systems (including data updates) using a mixture of ExtGWT components, RESTful Web Services or simply JSP - enabling users to use CARA as the single UI to access multiple applications which form part of a business process. Also leverage full CARA customization through the same mechanisms.
CARA v3.5 now provides an easy way to integrate multiple applications with Documentum, which gives users a single point of access to their content and all the associated systems and processes. The CARA Hub provides not only full customization capabilities of all features within CARA (including the ability to add new features), but also a configurable way to tie in data from external systems, either through direct data transfer / update or through providing UI components inside CARA. These components can be either newly defined (using JSP, or even ExtGWT) or they can embed the existing web-based UI of the external system in a frame inside CARA. Communication with the external systems can be via HTTP or RESTful web services.
The CARA Hub reduces the time for building such integrations from weeks or months to days.
