Momentary Lapse of Blogging

During the summer months the quantity of articles I write and publish are often minimal. I enjoy my summer activities of bicycling, motorcycling, camping, and other family activities too much to sit in front of a computer all summer long. Not being much of a winter outdoorsman and living in South Dakota, the winter months have always been my time for focusing on my personal blog as well as writing some articles for socPub.

My Turntable of Choice: The Fluance RT82

A few months ago, I reviewed six different vinyl record turntables due my renewed interest in listening to music pressed on vinyl records. Despite all six vinyl turntables being good choices to consider, I still needed to select the turntable I would bring into my home. In the end, it was the Fluance RT82 Reference High Fidelity Vinyl Turntable that I chose as my latest stereo component.

eZ Systems is now Ibexa

While I may check its pulse now and then, I'm less plugged into the content management system space as I once was. Regardless, in all this time I've never been fully convinced that experience management as it relates to software is a completely unique information system. But I get it, just like country and rock and roll may be just music they're still different genres of music that address and reaches out to a completely different culture base. He's a little bit content management system, she's a little bit digital experience management.

Writing About The Small Stuff Too

I'm a big believer that it is the small positive things we do in our day that have the biggest impact on our own well being. From here through the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, I've decided to just blog about the small things I'm doing to escape from the anxiety producing headlines in our news. I recognize that not everything I'm writing is of interest to others, so while some of my work will continue to be posted at socPuball of my work can be viewed on my personal blog, bryanruby.com.

My Return to Vinyl Records: New Turntables to Consider

Surprisingly, I recently sought out and purchased a vinyl record turntable. This is a surprise to me because I've spent the last three decades moving from the opposite direction as my music collection evolved from vinyl and cassette tape to compact discs and then finally to digital music stored as MP3 files on my computer and mobile devices. In this century, I don't even know if you can call it collecting music because I now subscribe monthly to an endless library of artists and songs through various music streaming services.

Guest Authors: Only Friends Need Apply

I'm currently working on a new policy for those that wish to contribute articles to this website, socPub. Consider this post a first draft intended to reduce the number of  low quality articles submitted for review and publications by guest authors that are complete strangers to me. My goal is not to prevent new authors from contributing articles to the website but to make sure those authors feel a sense of responsibility and purpose to provide informative quality articles to our site that benefits the reader above all else.

Let's Get Physical (less digital)

Nothing earth shattering but you may have noticed that I made a slight change in the list of categories displayed across the header of this website's pages. The topics of Marketing and Social Media have been removed and replaced with Experience Management as well as Vehicles (planes, trains, automobiles, and motorcycles). These changes are a reflection of my longstanding desire started two years ago to diversify the topics covered on the website socPub.
