European businesses expect technology digital transformation projects to boost their productivity by an average of 38% in just 3 years with overall Return on Investment (ROI) expected in just under 5 years, senior decision makers have reported. But so far, on average only 15% of organizations have completed their digital transformation projects.

New Study: Five years after EU antitrust fine, over half of UK Google Shopping ads still come from Google

Five years after the EU commission fined Google 2.4 billion euros ($2.65 billion) and ordered it to open up its Google Shopping service in Europe to external competition, a new study suggests around 53% of ads on the platform in the UK, still originate from Google itself - up from around 49% in 2019. The research from Searchmetrics indicates that after Brexit, Google is no longer trying to increase competition on its shopping platform in the UK.

SQL trails NoSQL in the move to the cloud

Microsoft Research Reveals Three in Four Irish Organizations Worried about Cyber Threats

20th February 2020: Research conducted by Microsoft Ireland has revealed that three in four (76%) leaders in large organizations in Ireland are worried for their organization’s security.

This research was conducted by Amarach across 200 decision makers who work for organizations that employ upwards of 250 staff. This research follows on from Microsoft research in 2019 that looked at employees’ security habits. Both sets of research together provide both the employee and then the employer perspectives on the state of cybersecurity in Ireland.

This year’s research focuses on four key areas of cyber risk: Identity Access Management, Threat Protection, Information Protection and Security Management.

IBM i shops suggest mixed success with GDPR compliance, with challenges still afoot for some, new survey reveals

Peterborough, NH, August 9, 2018 – Half of IBM i users questioned in a recent poll are confident[1] that their organizations are totally compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into effect on May 25th. However, over a quarter (26 per cent) admit they are not confident with the level of GDPR compliance, while 7 per cent remain unsure and 17 per cent stated they were not affected by the GDPR.
