CREST Releases New Guide to Security Operations Centres

20 December 2022: CREST, the global not-for-profit community of cyber security businesses and professionals working to keep our information safe in a digital world, today launches a new report into Security Operations Centres (SOCs).

The CREST “What is a Security Operations Centre?” guide is a chance for everyone with an interest in cybersecurity to gain a better understanding of what a SOC is, what it does, and the different types of security operations centres.

The report is one of several produced by the organisation to help build capacity and consistency in the cyber security industry, aimed at companies and individuals who need to understand the growing importance of a SOC in an organisation.

A few months ago, I purchased the Beelink U59 Pro Mini PC with only a few reviews available at the time. Despite being a longtime Windows and Linux PC I've been skeptical of the mini PC market  in general and have avoided making a purchase in the past. So much skepticism that my first introduction to this small form factor was last year's purchase of an Apple Mac Mini M1 despite not being a huge fan of the macOS operating system. Luckily, this Beelink Mini PC has convinced me that "small is better" for Windows and Linux as well.

Meta wins 2022 UK ecommerce advertising crown, but dominance is slipping

UK online retailers spent 16% of their annual advertising budget in November, with slightly higher levels expected in December, according to data from Juni

Gothenburg/London Wednesday 14th December 2022: Today, it's been revealed that the 2022 advertising platform of choice for UK online retailers was Meta. Data released by Juni, the financial platform built for ecommerce, has shown that 65% of UK ecommerce ad spend went on Meta owned networks Facebook and Instagram, 22.9% on Google and 4.3% on TikTok in 2022. However, Facebook and Instagram’s position has eroded over the year, falling from 70.5% in January to 60.9% in November.
